Cheryl DeAngelo

Cheryl DeAngelo has been in the food and beverage industry for over 25 years. In addition to Bubbly and Bleu, she is currently the president and CEO of the award-winning bar and restaurant, Side Street Inn, overseeing its two locations in Honolulu.

Cheryl is a passionate event designer, creating and coordinating numerous high-profile events in Honolulu. One of the highlights of her career was organizing the inaugural Honolulu Festival Friendship Gala at the Hawai’i Convention Center in 2003 to encourage and build on the relationships between Hawaii and Japan. The gala featured 35 of Hawaii’s top Chefs and had over ten thousand guests in attendance.

In 2005, together with her husband, Cheryl opened OLA at Turtle Bay Resort, a beachfront restaurant located on the sands of Kuilima Bay. OLA received multiple local accolades such as “Best New Restaurant of the Year – Critic’s Choice,” “Best Farm to Table Restaurant” and “Restaurant Worth the Trip,” as well as national recognition for “Excellence in Culinary Hospitality and Innovative Cuisine for the West Coast of the United States,” “Top 100 Outdoor Restaurants” in the nation and was named one of “America’s Top Restaurants.” The restaurant closed after a successful ten year run, when the couple moved to Honolulu.

In 2010, Cheryl took on a one-year project and published "Real Word" magazine, providing a "venue" for Hawaii artists, writers, poets, photographers, musicians and chefs to showcase their original work. In May 2011, Real Word was recognized with a PELE award for their MAKUA cover, issue 1.3.

When she’s not at Side Street Inn or putting together cheese boards, Cheryl spends every minute with her daughter, Maya Rose, her family and friends, enjoying good food, wine and the beauty of Hawaii.
